| Obverse description | The Lion of St. Mark seated left, holding the Gospel, faces the kneeling doge Nicolò Sagredo at right, who presents a staff surmounted by a cross and pennant. The composition reflects the traditional Venetian ducatone iconographic scheme, with the doge in ceremonial robes rendering homage. The mintmaster's initials G.D. appear in the exergue below the figures. The surrounding Latin legend identifies the doge by name and title, reading from the obverse field margin. |
