| Opis awersu | Saint Mark, depicted standing in full figure on the left, nimbed and robed in flowing drapery, presents a gonfalon (banner staff) to the kneeling Doge Francesco Dandolo on the right. The Doge is shown in profile, genuflecting in a posture of reverence and dressed in elaborate ducal robes and corno ducale. The legend is divided between both sides of the central design, reading the Doge's name and the invocation of Saint Mark as patron of Venice. The composition follows the established Venetian ducat type introduced by Doge Giovanni Dandolo in 1284, rendered in the fine hammered style of the Zecca. |

| Opis rewersu | Christ in Majesty (Christus Pantocrator) stands facing, full-length, within a granulated mandorla or vesica piscis formed by a beaded oval border, surrounded by six stars in the field. He is depicted nimbed with a cruciform halo, robed in long garments, raising his right hand in benediction and holding the Gospels in his left. The surrounding legend contains the votive inscription invoking Christ as ruler, a design common to all Venetian gold ducats of this era. The overall style reflects Byzantine-influenced Venetian Gothic craftsmanship. |
