His brief tenure left a thin numismatic record, and ducats struck in his name are correspondingly scarce. The Zellerfeld mint, which produced the bulk of Brunswick gold coinage in this period, worked under chronic pressure to supply the duchy's ceremonial and diplomatic gifting obligations rather than general circulation.
