1 Ducat - Louis Rudolph

Louis Rudolph ruled Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel for just four years, from 1731 until his death in 1735, having spent most of his adult life as Duke of Blankenburg — a secondary title he held for decades before finally inheriting the principal seat. His brief tenure left a thin numismatic record, and ducats struck in his name are correspondingly scarce. The Zellerfeld mint, which produced the bulk of Brunswick gold coinage in this period, worked under chronic pressure to supply the duchy's ceremonial and diplomatic gifting obligations rather than general circulation.
