| Aversbeschreibung | The obverse features the quartered coat of arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg, surmounted by a ducal crown, displayed within an ornamental border composed of small circular pellets or bosses arranged in a ring around the shield. The arms display the traditional heraldic charges of the House of Welf, including rampant lions, a walking horse, and other dynastic quarterings rendered in fine relief. The circumferential Latin legend reads LVD. RVD. D. G. DVX. BR. ET LVN., identifying the issuer as Louis Rudolph, by the grace of God Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg. The overall design reflects the baroque heraldic style prevalent in early eighteenth-century German coinage. |

| Reversbeschreibung | The reverse presents a standing male figure, depicted as a wild man or woodsman, shown full-length in the field, holding a tall palm tree or club in his right hand, a device commonly associated with the Brunswick-Lüneburg dynastic tradition. The figure stands on a ground line, barefoot and clad in a garment of leaves or foliage about the waist, rendered in the baroque engraving style characteristic of early eighteenth-century German ducats. The arc legend VIRTVS FORTIS VERA NON FERA curves along the upper periphery, translating as 'True strong virtue, not ferocity.' The date and mintmaster's initials HCH appear in the lower exergual area, divided by the figure's base. The milled border frames the design on all sides. |
