Obverse description Right-facing draped and armored bust of King Frederik V, his flowing wig tied with a ribbon at the neck, rendered in high relief in the Baroque style. The effigy occupies the majority of the field, with the mintmaster's initials 'A' visible in the lower exergue area. The circumferential Latin legend reads FRIDERICVS • V • D • G • REX • DAN • NORV • G • A, separated by raised dots, running along the inner edge of the milled border.

The circumferential Latin legend CHRISTIANVS • VI • D • G • REX • DAN • NORV • A encircles the effigy, separated by raised dots, within a milled border, commemorating the deceased monarch on the occasion of his successor's accession.
