The composition is rendered in a fine Baroque pictorial style characteristic of early eighteenth-century German commemorative ducats. |

In the centre of the field, a spread eagle soars amid billowing clouds, its wings outstretched. A terrestrial globe rests on the ground in the lower field. The circumferential Latin legend reads CORONAM DECORAM SERVATOR CONFERT ET SERVAT, while a two-line Latin inscription in the exergue reads NON EST MORTALE QUOD OPTO, together conveying a pious Baroque funerary and celestial allegory. |
