| Obverse description | Full-length facing figure of Prince Francesco Filiberto Ferrero-Fieschi depicted in full military armour, standing en face with arms outstretched, the date 15-98 divided to either side of the figure in the field. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, abbreviating the ruler's titles and name. The hammered flan displays the characteristic irregular outline typical of late sixteenth-century Italian ducats. |

The tablet is centrally placed within the coin field, with the decorative surround filling the remaining area to the irregular hammered edge. |
