| Descrizione del dritto | Central quartered shield bearing the arms of Hungary (barry of eight), Bohemia (lion rampant), and the Holy Roman Empire, with additional quarterings for Austria and other Habsburg territories, surmounted by a small imperial eagle. The date 1544 appears within the upper field of the shield. A beaded inner circle frames the arms, with the circular Latin legend reading FERDINA D G RO VNG BO REX distributed around the periphery. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan and bold relief of mid-sixteenth-century hammered gold coinage. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Full-length armored figure of Saint Ladislaus, patron saint of Hungary, standing facing, wearing a crown and plate armor, holding a halberd or battle-axe in his right hand and an orb or Gospel book in his left. The saint is depicted in a hieratic, frontal pose typical of late medieval and early Renaissance Hungarian ducats. The surrounding circular Latin legend reads SANCTVS LADISLAVS REX, divided across the field, within a beaded border. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-hammered production at the Vienna Mint. |
