| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the arms of Baden-Durlach — a diagonal bend sinister dividing the field into alternating stripes and ermine — surmounted by a princely crowned helm. The achievement is supported on the dexter side by a winged lion rampant and on the sinister side by a crowned griffin rampant, both rendered in high relief. The base of the composition features an elaborate baroque cartouche with foliate and scroll ornaments. The coin's edge is finely milled, and the field is smoothly finished throughout. |

| Reverse description | The field displays a three-line Latin inscription — DUC NOV / BAAD / DURLAC — rendered in bold raised letters within an inner circle, abbreviating 'Ducatus Novus Baden-Durlach'. The inscription is framed by an elaborate wreath of fruiting vines and floral sprays in the baroque manner. At the base of the inner circle, the engraver's initials 'I T' (for Jonas Thiébaud) appear. The outer border echoes the milled edge visible on the obverse, and the overall composition is symmetrical and finely executed. |
