The full inscription commemorates the bicentenary of the Lutheran Reformation, concluding with the precise date D.31.OCT.1717, referencing the anniversary of Martin Luther's posting of the Ninety-Five Theses on 31 October 1517. The coin's milled edge and fine die work reflect the high-quality production standards of Regensburg municipal coinage of the period. |
