| Obverse description | Debased bust of the Sasanian king Khusro II facing right, wearing an elaborate winged crown with crescent and orb finial, derived directly from the prototype drachm of that monarch. The effigy is rendered in a coarse, provincial style characteristic of Tokharistan imitative coinage, with simplified facial features and schematized drapery. A crudely engraved Pahlavi legend occupying the customary position around the bust approximates the name of Khusro II, though executed with diminished calligraphic precision. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded border, with further decorative bands visible toward the coin's irregular flan edge. |
