Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Ferdinando I di Borbone, Duke of Parma, facing right, with long hair tied in a queue with a ribbon bow at the nape of the neck. The portrait is rendered in a refined late-Baroque style with naturalistic detail in the hair and drapery at the truncation. The circular Latin legend reads FERDINANDVS I·HISPANIAR·INFANS around the periphery, separated from the field by a fine beaded border.

Reverse description Quartered crowned coat of arms of the Duchy of Parma, incorporating the Farnese lilies and Bourbon elements, flanked symmetrically by two crossed olive branches extending from the base of the shield. The shield is surmounted by an ornate ducal crown. The circular Latin legend D·G·PARMÆ PLAC·ET VAST·DVX surrounds the periphery, accompanied by the date and the mintmaster's initial S at the base of the design, all within a beaded border.
