Two circles, each containing a bold `1` partly encircled by text above. At the center, large bold lettering declares “THE STATE OF LOUISIANA.” Beneath, the text states: “Will pay ONE DOLLAR to the Bearer at the Treasury office February 24th, 1862,” followed by “BATON ROUGE” printed below. Typography is ornate, with mixed fonts and weights. No portrait or vignette imagery present. Framed by a thin engraved border with corner embellishments.
