| Description du revers | The reverse presents a bold, three-dimensional frontal rendering of a human skull conforming precisely to the outline of the skull-shaped flan. The cranium, orbital cavities, nasal aperture, and dentition are rendered in high relief with anatomical detail, the vacant eye sockets and open jaw lending a striking memento mori character to the design. The smooth cranial surface occupies the upper field, while the zygomatic arches and mandible with visible teeth are depicted in the lower portion. The entire reverse field utilises the shaped planchet as an integral design element. |
