| Reversbeschreibung | A colorized panoramic scene depicting the rustic coastal landscape of Punggol Point and Coney Island occupies the central field. A timber jetty extends over calm waters in the foreground, with figures visible on the pier and a vessel passing in the middle ground. Dense tropical tree coverage is rendered along the upper horizon, evoking the natural character of the locale. The inscription 'PUNGGOL POINT & CONEY ISLAND' arcs along the upper periphery, while the legend 'Rustic Coast' and the denomination '$1' appear in stylized lettering within the lower field. Decorative wave motifs are rendered in the lower exergue area. |

Issued as part of Singapore's ongoing commemorative dollar program marking urban redevelopment projects, this piece records two reclaimed land areas on the northeastern coast — Punggol Point and Coney Island — before large-scale development transformed them. Coney Island, known locally as Pulau Serangoon, was privately owned by the Haw Par Brothers until the 1970s and long served as a recreational retreat before the Singapore government acquired it.
The Punggol district itself was a fishing village well into the late twentieth century, earmarked for comprehensive new town development under the 1996 Punggol 21 masterplan.
