| 背面描述 | The reverse, designed by artist Pandora Young, is dominated by a large selectively gold-plated "V" for Victory at the centre of the composition. Behind and around the "V", an exuberant crowd scene evokes the jubilation on the Canadian home front on VE Day, May 8, 1945, when citizens filled streets and public spaces to celebrate the Allied victory in Europe. The celebratory scene transitions toward the lower portion of the design into a solemn scene of remembrance, where three silhouettes representing members of the naval, army, and air force branches of the Canadian and British Armed Forces stand in tribute. The date 1945 and the commemorative date 2020 appear alongside the legend V CANADA DOLLAR and the designer's initials PY. |
