| Beschrijving keerzijde | Banknote-style rectangular design featuring a full-color panoramic view of the San Francisco skyline as seen from the bay, dominated by the iconic main tower and suspension cables of the Golden Gate Bridge in the left foreground rendered in color against a blue sky with clouds. The central and right portions depict the downtown San Francisco skyline including recognizable skyscrapers such as the Transamerica Pyramid, transitioning from full color on the left to a monochrome treatment on the right. The inscription San Francisco appears in the upper right field alongside a small globe vignette, the numeral 1 is positioned at the lower right, and the text Skyline Dollar is inscribed in script at the lower center. |

The dimensions here are not a misprint. Cook Islands has issued a series of elongated rectangular silver pieces — sometimes called "silver bars with legal tender status" by skeptics — that exist primarily as novelty bullion for the collector market rather than anything approaching circulation coinage. The Cook Islands government has long licensed its monetary authority to private minting operations, most notably the New Zealand-based Mints and European distributors, generating face-value instruments that bear its name while being designed, marketed, and sold entirely abroad.
