Puffing Billy is a preserved narrow-gauge steam railway operating in the Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne, saved from closure in the early 1950s by a volunteer preservation society — one of the earliest such efforts in the world. Niue has long served as a licensing vehicle for Australian-themed commemorative silver, its sovereign status allowing issuers to attach legal-tender face values to bullion pieces with no expectation of actual circulation.
