Reverse description A richly detailed composition combining colour printing and relief engraving. At upper left, a colourised colonial-era street scene depicts a horse-drawn carriage and a lady in period dress before a Georgian-style bank building. In the lower centre, a colourised depiction of the historic Holey Dollar and its central Dump — the first coins minted for the colony of New South Wales — rests above a decorative chain motif in relief. To the right, a raised uncoloured portrait bust of Governor Lachlan Macquarie in military uniform occupies the field. The legend GOVERNOR LACHLAN MACQUARIE arcs along the upper periphery, and the date range 1810-1821, denoting his governorship, appears in the lower centre field.
