| 正面描述 | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, rendered in a portrait style consistent with the fourth definitive portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs above along the upper field, with NIUE ISLAND to the right. The denomination 1 DOLLAR and the date 2020 appear in the lower field, flanking the portrait. The entire design is enhanced by gold plating, giving the coin a rich gilt appearance. |

The Battle of the Scheldt, fought October–November 1944, was one of the most operationally demanding Allied campaigns in Northwest Europe — a grinding, waterlogged fight to clear the Scheldt Estuary and open the port of Antwerp to Allied supply ships. Canadian forces bore the overwhelming burden of it, suffering over 6,000 casualties in five weeks across flooded Dutch polders.
Niue issues commemoratives of this kind under licensing arrangements that have little to do with the island's own history. The connection is entirely commercial.
