| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse of this rectangular gold piece features a diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, rendered in high relief after the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait, occupying the upper central field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs to the left and TOKELAU 2022 arcs to the right of the effigy. Beneath the portrait, the Tokelau coat of arms is depicted, accompanied by a ribbon bearing the motto TOKELAU MO TE ATUA. The lower portion of the field carries the denomination ONE DOLLAR, the specification 1/500 OZ FINE GOLD 999/1000, a facsimile signature of Leonardo da Vinci, and the series inscription MASTERPIECES, all within a plain rectangular border. |

The composition depicts multiple detailed views of the musculature and skeletal structure of the human shoulder, neck, and upper arm, rendered in pen and ink on a warm parchment-toned ground. Several figures are shown from differing angles, with sinews, muscles, and tendons meticulously delineated in the master's characteristic style. Part of a broader series of fractional gold coins issued by Tokelau under licensing arrangements that have made the territory a surprisingly prolific source of themed bullion issues since the 2010s. The anatomical subject matter has no particular connection to Tokelau — a territory of roughly 1,500 people across three atolls with no indigenous minting infrastructure whatsoever. These are produced entirely for the collector bullion market, with the Tokelau imprimatur serving a legal rather than cultural function.
