| Obverse description | The obverse of this rectangular gold piece features a diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, rendered in high relief after the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait, occupying the upper central field. Part of a broader series of fractional gold coins issued by Tokelau under licensing arrangements that have made the territory a surprisingly prolific source of themed bullion issues since the 2010s. The anatomical subject matter has no particular connection to Tokelau — a territory of roughly 1,500 people across three atolls with no indigenous minting infrastructure whatsoever. These are produced entirely for the collector bullion market, with the Tokelau imprimatur serving a legal rather than cultural function.
