| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse depicts a stylised interpretation of the New South Wales coat of arms, featuring a rampant kangaroo at centre holding a shield inscribed 'ONE DOLLAR', flanked by a Merino ram to the lower left and Waratah blooms to the right, with wheat stalks rising behind the central figure. A decorative banner below the main composition bears the inscription 'NEW SOUTH WALES', and a rising sun motif is rendered in the lower exergue. The overall design is richly detailed with native flora and fauna symbolic of the state's agricultural and natural heritage. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
New South Wales was granted its coat of arms by royal warrant in 1906, making it one of the older formally gazetted state arms in Australia. This 2022 issue falls within the Royal Australian Mint's ongoing state and territory heraldry program, which has produced numerous collector releases tied to Australian civic identity. The sixth portrait of Elizabeth II, by sculptor Jody Clark, was introduced in 2015 and proved to be her last effigy approved for circulation coinage before her death in September 2022.
