Obverse description A majestic seated lion is depicted in high relief at the centre of the field, surrounded by multiple Tudor roses in varying sizes and stylised geometric elements evoking the New South Wales coat of arms. Flanking vegetation and a decorative background of angular forms fill the field. To the left, the inscription '1 OUNCE .999 Ag' appears horizontally, while to the right the motto 'NEWLY RISEN HOW BRIGHTLY YOU SHINE' is inscribed in three lines. At the base, a circular cartouche contains the sixth-portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, engraved by Jody Clark, encircled by the legend 'ELIZABETH II · AUSTRALIA 2022'.
