| Reverse description | A laughing kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) is depicted perched on a eucalyptus branch extending from lower left, with a spray of native foliage and berries to the left of the bird. The bird's plumage is rendered in exquisite high-relief detail, characteristic of the Perth Mint's bullion series. In the lower central field, a small privy mark depicts the New Hampshire State Quarter design, commemorating its 2000 issue. The circular legend THE AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA and 1 OZ. 999 SILVER arc along the upper periphery, with the date 2000 appearing in the lower field, all within a beaded border. |

| Additional information |
The New Hampshire privy mark on this Kookaburra was added to capitalize on American collector interest tied to the 50 State Quarters program, which launched in 1999 and sent millions of Americans hunting for coins for the first time. Perth Mint partnered with U.S. distributors to issue state-specific privy variants, each struck in limited numbers well below the standard Kookaburra run. New Hampshire's release coincided with the state's quarter debut that same year.
The privy itself was applied via a separate punch to the working dies — a detail that occasionally produced minor misalignment on examples from early in the production run.
