Reverse description A finely detailed, high-relief depiction of the Chatham Island Black Robin (Petroica traversi) perched facing right upon a naturalistic branch with small leafy sprigs extending to either side. The denomination ONE DOLLAR is inscribed in large serif letters along the upper left arc of the field, while the legend CHATHAM ISLAND BLACK ROBIN appears in two lines at the lower periphery. The mirror-proof field provides strong contrast against the intricately engraved plumage of this critically endangered species.
