| 背面描述 | The reverse of this Cook Islands tribute issue features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, the Cook Islands issuing authority legend, denomination, and year of issue in place of the traditional Morgan eagle reverse. The legend A TRIBUTE TO THE UNITED STATES arcs along the upper periphery, with COOK ISLANDS and IRB COPY flanking the central design, and ONE DOLLAR inscribed below, reflecting its status as a non-circulating commemorative piece rather than a standard circulation coin. |

The Cook Islands has issued commemorative dollars under its own authority since 1972, a consequence of its status as a self-governing territory in free association with New Zealand — legally entitled to produce coinage while holding no independent monetary system in practice. This piece belongs to a long-running series reproducing the Morgan Dollar design, originally created by George T. Morgan and struck by the United States Mint from 1878 through 1921. Cook Islands has no historical connection to that coinage whatsoever; the series exists purely as a bullion-adjacent collectible targeting the Morgan collector market.
The silver-clad construction keeps costs below a solid silver strike while retaining the .999 surface layer that satisfies collector expectations.
