| Obverse description | The obverse depicts the national coat of arms of Palau centered within the field, rendered in fine relief: a heart-shaped shield bearing a traditional scene with a figure holding a trident flanked by a mermaid and a sea turtle, surmounted by a native outrigger canoe in high relief above the shield. The curved legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper periphery, accompanied by a ring of six-pointed stars flanking the shield on either side. The denomination 1$ is inscribed in the lower field beneath the shield. The motto RAINBOW'S END appears on a scroll at the base of the shield. |
