Obverse description The obverse features a crescent-shaped inset at the upper center bearing the Public Seal of Niue, surmounted by a royal crown, with the legend PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE encircling the seal and the Niuean motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI inscribed below. The lower portion of the field displays a highly detailed, sculpted fossil skeleton of a Plesiosaurus embedded in a textured stone surface, rendered in high relief to simulate an archaeological excavation.
