Additional information

Niue's licensing arrangements with Finland's Moomin Characters Oy have produced a long-running series of collectible issues struck under the Pacific island's monetary agreement with New Zealand. At 0.031 g of .9999 gold, this falls into the "mini gold" category — a format popularized in the early 2010s and now ubiquitous among boutique mint programs targeting collector markets rather than any circulation function. Charles III's accession in September 2022 makes this among the earliest Niue issues to carry his effigy under that licensing arrangement.
