Harald Fairhair — Hårfagre in Norse — is traditionally credited with unifying Norway under a single crown following the Battle of Hafrsfjord, dated by most scholars to somewhere between 872 and 900 AD. The exact year remains disputed, which hasn't stopped Norway from treating it as foundational. Niue has issued numismatic silver under its Crown relationship since the 1980s, producing an enormous range of commemorative types for the international collector market rather than domestic circulation.
