| 背面描述 | The reverse bears a vivid full-colour portrait of Harald Fairhair, the first King of Norway, depicted as a stern, long-haired and bearded warrior in three-quarter bust facing the viewer. He is attired in dark armour with a richly coloured red and fur-trimmed cloak draped over his shoulders, and his hands rest upon the hilt of a broadsword held vertically before him. The coloured portrait is set against the gold-plated background of the Viking longship sail, whose engraved billowing lines and ornate scrollwork frame the figure on both sides. The overall composition conveys a majestic and imposing regal character befitting the legendary Norse king. |

Harald Fairhair — Hårfagre in Norse — is traditionally credited with unifying Norway under a single crown following the Battle of Hafrsfjord, dated by most scholars to somewhere between 872 and 900 AD. The exact year remains disputed, which hasn't stopped Norway from treating it as foundational. Niue has issued numismatic silver under its Crown relationship since the 1980s, producing an enormous range of commemorative types for the international collector market rather than domestic circulation.
Charles III's effigy appearing on a coin honoring a Viking king is a pairing with no political logic beyond licensing convenience.
