| 正面描述 | Black intaglio printing on a light blue-grey guilloche underprint. At left, a finely engraved vignette of the "Sandy" mascot — a mustachioed figure in a feathered tam o'shanter evoking a Scottish character — anchors the design, while the triangular Canadian Tire logo with central maple leaf occupies the centre field. The four corners carry guilloche rosettes enclosing bold "$1" numerals, and two facsimile signatures with bilingual titles (Treasurer–Trésorier and President–Président) appear below the central panel. |

| 背面描述 | Black on white, centred on a dense guilloche oval with fine lathe-work radiating lines enclosing the triangular Canadian Tire maple-leaf logo. Bold "$1" numerals flank the oval at left and right, and a red alphanumeric serial number with two-letter prefix appears at upper left and upper right. Bilingual redemption legends run along the top and bottom borders within a scalloped ornamental frame, with the printer's imprint and copyright notice along the lower margin. |

| 备注 |
Canadian Tire "money" occupies a genuinely odd legal position — it is not currency, not a cheque, and not a gift card in the modern sense, but a loyalty discount coupon that the Canadian Bank Note Company printed to the same security standards as federal paper money. The CBC contract was deliberate: counterfeiting concerns were real, and by the 1980s a secondary market had developed where the coupons traded at slight discounts to face value at flea markets and small retailers who accepted them informally.
The 1985 series followed format revisions prompted by earlier counterfeiting incidents. Some issues from this period are known with minor plate inconsistencies in the serial numbering, though not at a level that generates serious specialist attention.
