| 背面描述 | The reverse features a detailed depiction of an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly in full flight, its wings spread and rendered with fine naturalistic detail, serving as a symbol of hope for those affected by breast cancer. The butterfly is positioned prominently at the center of the field. The outer legend reads UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, with the denomination ONE DOLLAR inscribed below. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and the commemorative inscription BREAST CANCER AWARENESS appear within the design, along with the engravers initials ESD and RG. |

Authorized under the Breast Cancer Awareness Commemorative Coin Act of 2015, this issue was part of a fundraising mechanism where surcharges from each sale — $10 per uncirculated coin, $10 per proof — were directed to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Susan G. Komen organization. Congress has used the commemorative coin surcharge model since the 1980s as an off-budget method of directing funds to designated causes without direct appropriation.
The concave obverse was a deliberate technical choice, one of the first such applications on a U.S. circulating-denomination commemorative, echoing the curved Baseball Hall of Fame dollars introduced in 2014.
