Reverse description Heraldic bald eagle displayed at center, its wings outstretched and its head turned to the right, closely adapted from John M. Mercanti's design based on the Great Seal of the United States. The eagle bears upon its breast a palewise-striped shield, and clutches an olive branch in its right talon and a bundle of thirteen arrows in its left. A scroll inscribed E PLURIBUS UNUM is held in the eagle's beak, and thirteen five-pointed stars are arranged in a triangular pattern above the eagle's head. The circular legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA runs along the upper rim, while the denomination and fineness inscription 1 OZ. FINE SILVER ~ ONE DOLLAR appears along the lower rim.
