Obverse description	The obverse carries a central vignette of a waterfall and industrial mill scene with a stone bridge in the background, executed in fine intaglio engraving. To the lower left, an oval portrait medallion of Queen Victoria is set within a lathe-work border, while a standing figure of a Native American chief occupies the right margin. The bank title THE EASTERN TOWNSHIPS BANK arches across the top, with PROVINCE OF CANADA below it, and the denomination ONE DOLLAR is inscribed in bold letterpress across the centre, above a manuscript date line reading Sherbrooke, August 1st 1859.
