Brunei was among the earliest Southeast Asian issuers to commit fully to polymer for its circulating notes, a decision driven largely by the country's equatorial humidity — a genuine enemy of cotton-fibre currency.
The 2024 date marks a new signature cycle rather than a redesign; the underlying artwork carries over from earlier issues in the series.
