| Obverse description | The national arms of Uruguay displayed centrally within an oval cartouche, the quartered shield depicting scales of justice, a hill, and two oxen, encircled by a laurel wreath and flanked by crossed flags, cannon, and other military trophies. Above the shield, a radiant sun with a facing human visage emits long straight rays into the upper field. A small five-pointed star appears in the lower field below the wreath. The circumferential legend REPUBLICA ORIENTAL DEL URUGUAY is arranged along the inner border, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. |
