The outer marginal legend carries the Quranic verse from Sura 9:33 attesting to the divine mission of the Prophet Muhammad. The coin exhibits typical characteristics of 4th-century AH hammered silver dirhams from the Levantine region, with slightly uneven strike and natural flan irregularities. The script is angular Kufic throughout, consistent with late 10th-century CE provincial Islamic coinage. |
