The portrait reflects a Byzantine artistic influence commonly adopted by Danishmendid coinage of the mid-12th century. The facial features are rendered in low relief, characteristic of the hammered copper issues of this dynasty. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field contains a three-line Arabic inscription bearing the name and titles of Dhu'l-Qarnayn, enclosed within a plain inner circle. A continuous Arabic marginal legend occupies the outer border, separated from the central inscription by a beaded or rope-patterned inner ring. The lettering is deeply struck and typical of Danishmendid epigraphy of the period. |
