Obverse description Bearded male head facing right, depicted in profile within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a marginal Arabic legend in the outer field. The portrait reflects a Byzantine artistic influence commonly adopted by Danishmendid coinage of the mid-12th century. The facial features are rendered in low relief, characteristic of the hammered copper issues of this dynasty.
