A marginal legend in Arabic script encircles the central inscription between two concentric linear borders, recording the mint name Tilimsan and the Hijri year 179. The die-struck surfaces display the characteristic flat, calligraphic style of early Abbasid-influenced provincial coinage, struck on an irregular flan by the hammered method. |
