An outer marginal legend in Arabic script runs around the circumference, containing the Quranic verse from Surat al-Tawba (9:33) affirming the supremacy of Islam. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, typical of hammered Islamic dirhams of the Qarakhanid period. |
