He is flanked on either side by two standing female Muse figures in draped attire, one holding a scroll and the other gesturing in attendance. The composition is based directly on the celebrated third-century AD mosaic preserved at the Bardo National Museum in Tunis. The denomination '1 دينار 1 DINAR' appears across the upper field in Arabic and Latin, with 'VERGILIVS' inscribed below it in Roman capitals. The reverse design commemorates the bimillennial anniversary of Virgil's death. |
