A circular marginal legend, separated from the central field by a beaded inner border, carries additional titulature and Quranic or religious phrases consistent with Buyid dynastic coinage practice. The outer rim is formed by a second beaded border following the irregular contour of the flan. The calligraphy is executed in a bold, formal Kufic hand displaying the characteristic thick horizontals and elongated verticals of the period. |
