Obverse description Hammered gold dinar struck in the Maghribi tradition, featuring a large central square frame enclosing multiple horizontal lines of Arabic Maghribi script in the field. The central square contains the Shahada and the ruler's name and title, Abu Faris Musa, Amir al-Muslimin. A circular marginal legend in cursive Arabic script runs around the outer border within a beaded circle, containing the Basmala and a blessing upon the Prophet. The overall design is purely epigraphic, with no figural or geometric ornament, conforming to the austere Islamic numismatic tradition of the western Maghrib.
