| Descrizione del rovescio | The central field bears a three-line inscription UN / DÉCIME. / ESSAI, denoting the denomination and trial status of this pattern piece, enclosed within a full wreath of oak leaves and acorns tied at the base. The oak wreath is rendered with considerable sculptural detail, its branches symmetrically arranged to frame the central text. A fine beaded border runs along the outer edge of the coin, consistent with the obverse treatment. The overall composition is bold and uncluttered, typical of early-nineteenth-century French essai coinage. |
