| 表面の説明 | Armored bust of Philip II of Spain facing left, wearing a ruffled collar and elaborately decorated pauldrons, rendered in the Renaissance portrait style typical of Netherlandish hammered coinage. The hair is curled and the beard is short, consistent with contemporary portraiture of the monarch. The peripheral legend is engraved in raised Latin lettering within a beaded border. A small circular countermark depicting a rampant lion within a dotted border — applied by the County of Holland between 1573 and 1574 — is visible in the right field of the coin. The date 1561, referring to the original striking of the Philipsdaalder, appears in the lower legend. |

Two ornate crowned supporters flank the shield on either side, with decorative foliate elements positioned in the quarters around the arms. The entire composition is enclosed within a raised inner circle, with the surrounding field bearing the Latin reverse legend in large, bold hammered lettering within a beaded outer border. The flan shows characteristic irregularity and die wear consistent with mid-sixteenth-century hammered production. |
