Reverse description A square klippe flan with a circular design field enclosed by a beaded inner ring. At centre, the Dutch rampant lion is depicted passant-rampant to the left, with raised forepaws, open jaws, and a flowing mane, rendered with considerable sculptural detail. The surrounding Latin legend incorporates the date 1667 and reads CONFIDENS · DNO · NON · MOVETVR, meaning 'He who trusts in God is steadfast,' with a floral ornament terminating the legend. The bold hammered relief and square planchet confirm this piece as a piedfort klippe presentation striking of exceptional rarity.
