| Reverse description | The crowned composite arms of Austria-Burgundy displayed at center, incorporating the quarterly coat of arms of the Habsburg dynasty with the characteristic escutcheon of Castile-León, Aragon, and Austria. The shield is encircled by the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, from which the Golden Fleece pendant is suspended at the base. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design reading DOMINVS MIHI ADIVTOR ('The Lord is my helper'), a pious motto adopted by Philip II on his Brabantine coinage. The design is characteristic of the Burgundian cross daalder series struck for the Habsburg Netherlands. |
